The Fayette County Attorney's Office offers a variety of diversion programs to maximize public safety, reduce recidivism, and enhance a fair and efficient criminal justice system.
Each case is subject to individualized review and eligibility to participate in the program will depend on the specific circumstances of the case.
Although diversion programs provide many benefits, not everyone is eligible to participate. Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed to determine if your case is eligible for a treatment program.

The Fayette County Attorney's Office (Iowa) offers payment plans to assist you in payment of delinquent court debt.
Participation in a payment plan with the County Attorney's Office may allow you to obtain your driver's license, satisfy the condition of Probation/Parole or release the hold on your vehicle registration.
To start the process, please email collections@co.fayette.ia.us with the following information: Name, DOB, Driver’s License Number, and which payment plan you are requesting. We offer two (2) different types of payment plans.
If the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) has suspended your driver's license or your Driver’s License may be suspended soon, you may qualify for the Driver's License Reinstatement Program (LRP) through our office. If all you are seeking is a Temporary Restricted License (TRL) commonly known as a “work permit” you need to contact the DOT at 1-800-532-1121.
This plan is most often used to satisfy probation/parole requirements, help with vehicle registration holds and to avoid garnishments.
This payment plan will NOT affect the status of your driver's license.
The plan will NOT prevent suspension of your driver's license for non-payment of traffic tickets. For a payment plan for your driver's license please apply for the License Reinstatement Program.
