Fayette County is accepting applications for the position of Environmental Health & Zoning Assistant. Fayette County is located in beautiful Northeast Iowa.
Under the guidance/direction of the Environmental Health & Zoning Administrator, the Assistant performs duties to assist in the day-to-day office operations of the Environmental Health & Zoning Office and serves as support for the Administrator. This position requires a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), a valid Class C Driver’s License and must be insurable under County's auto insurance Policy.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience working in a professional office environment, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact courteously and effectively with the public.
Demonstrated ability to follow direction, manage tasks independently, and maintain attention to detail.
General knowledge of Fayette County, including familiarity with local communities and regulations, preferred.

Fayette County Conservation Board is seeking candidates for the following position:
Environmental Education Coordinator
This position, under the direction of the Fayette County Executive Director, is responsible for developing, organizing, and presenting the Fayette County Conservation Board’s education program. The Environmental Education Coordinator educates the public about the county’s natural environment and promotes environmental responsibility and stewardship by presenting programs in schools, at county facilities and other public settings.
A two-year college degree and one year experience in a natural resources, conservation or education field is required.
Must have a valid Iowa driver's license, be insurable by the county’s auto insurance policy, and must successfully complete a post-offer job-related medical examination. Fayette County residency is required.

and Petting Zoo positions for Summer 2026.
Duties may include:
● Mowing, trimming, trail upkeep
● Cleaning restrooms and park facilities, including trash removal
● Caring for animals and maintaining their enclosures
● Assists with park projects
● Other duties as assigned
